The History – Completed in 1909, Forbes Field was home to the Pirates for six decades until the park was torn down in favor of the soon-to-be-torn-down Three Rivers Stadium in 1970. – – Lay of the Land – The 457-foot mark from center field and the 436-foot mark in right center make the red brick, ivy-covered outfield wall recognizable to the passers-by. The brick line continues across Roberto Clemente Boulevard.
